June 29, 2024 Saturday Hawk Walk

June 29 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

Hawk Walk June 29, 2024

Please join in for a rare opportunity to take a walk with a Master Falconer, and get to meet some birds of prey up close and personal.

Henry Walters is the founder of Monadnock Falconry. Trained at the Irish School of Falconry, Walters will be our guide, sharing his knowledge and appreciation of these hunting raptors. We will have a 90 minute session, walking through the countryside with these majestic birds of prey. We will be able to observe the hawks hunt in the wild, and then return to his hand (or, potentially, your own hand). Since we will be walking outside over open fields, some moderate fitness is required.

The trip to Monadnock will commence at the Boxborough Regency – we will marshal from 9:30 A.M. and departing at 10:00 A.M. We will take a twisty back road drive to our brunch destination: Hilltop Cafe in Wilton. Located in a 1765 farmhouse, Hilltop serves a rustic, hearty menu. From there it is a short drive to the falcons. We will finish the trip with locally produced ice cream at Connolly Brothers Dairy Farms.
