It was a long, long winter so everyone was happy to see the sun shining as we started our drive to the wilds of western Massachusetts. With a large number of cars we left in 2 groups. After a quick trip down the Mass Pike, we began our journey in Westfield. The first group picked up several cars with members from the western part of the state and we all headed for the Route 7 Grill in Great Barrington. The parking lot was filled with 29 Miatas (Miatae?) of every color and shade. |

It was a pleasant surprise to find out we would be dining outdoors on a meal of roasted chicken, braised beef, hand cut fries & coleslaw. The delicious meal was topped off with a tiny surprise birthday cake for Chris Baylis, and amazingly it was split into 50 pieces!
With our bellies full, the entire group left for the next part of the trip which eventually brought us to northern Connecticut. With a quick stop at the West Branch Reservoir to stretch our legs, we continued to the required ice cream stop at Moo-licious Farm. While enjoying the sweet treats we were surprised to meet the stars of “Twins” Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny De Vito. |

At this point some people said their goodbyes while a group of ten cars decided to follow Bob and Janet Baylis. Unfortunately, they had one more surprise left as they once again they lead us down a dirt road. (Ok, it was only a construction zone.) |
