June 3rd-5th, 2011
Five cars met at the Wrentham Mall for a scenic trip thru the Connecticut countryside with a trip on a ferry in Haddam. We had a great lunch stop at the “Blue Oar Restaurant” on the Connecticut River troops continued to Old Greenwich. The arrival at the Hyatt Regency did not come soon enough. There were four more cars ready to join up for dinner at the “Old Greenwich Tavern”.
Saturday morning a quick trip to the Stamford Metro Train Station to Grand Central Station, New York City! We took a short walk to Times Square where we bartered for a reduced price for the sightseeing bus. The buses would take us on guided tours Uptown, Downtown, Brookline, and/or Statue of Liberty. We all joined up later at Rockefeller Center to go to the “Top of the Rock” for the sunset and lights of the city. What a view. Some went to Times Square – others to Grand Central Station and back to Old Greenwich.
Sunday morning breakfast at “City Limits Diner”and on to the “Concours d’Elegance” with cars and boats for everyone to enjoy. There were Jaguar’s, Lotus’s, and a special vehicle, “Fitch” with a corvair powered engine and many more.
A great time was had by all as we scattered to our respective homes.
Viva New York City!!!!
