The 10th Annual Sunapee Lions Club Collectible & Antique Car Show was held on June 29, 2008 at Lake Sunapee State Park in Newbury, NH.
The weather did not look great on Sunday when we all started our trip north to the Lake Sunapee State Park. The weather, report for the day, indicated that the clouds would give way to warm sunny weather, with 80 degree’s predicted for the afternoon. Sure enough, as noon approached the clouds disappeared, the sun came out, and the afternoon in the mountains was warm, sunny, and around 80 degrees.
18 Miatas braved the cloudy skies and attended the Car Show. Jon Weinberg led a group of MMC members thru MA & NH back roads to the event while other MMC members arrived on their own. Nine members from The Mass Miata Club attended the event.
After the trophies were awarded, Lucy Ahern, in her new 2008 Icy Blue, led the way to her favorite ice cream stand in Newbury, NH, while Jon Weinberg led the rest of the MMC members back to Mass with an ice cream stop along the way.
Rick Besse attended the Miatas at Myrtle Beach II earlier this year and won 2nd place in the NA Class overall from among over 300 Miatas at that event. At the Sunapee event, although a lot smaller, our MMC members again did well:
