Description:
This trip is Rain or Shine; a Sunday drive on lightly traveled, curvy and hilly, rural roads through the scenic landscape of the Southern Berkshire Hills. The pace will be moderate.
The Starting Point is the parking lot at Big Y Market in Westfield, MA. On the first leg of 40 miles, and an hour and a quarter of duration, we will wind our way through the sparsely populated rural Hilltowns to our Pit-stop destination at:
Papa’s Healthy Food and Fuel in East Otis, MA (aka L&M Auto Inc) a Gulf Gas Station.
2000 E Otis Rd (MA-23),East Otis, MA 01029 (413) 269-7779 www.landmautoinc.com
The second leg will be a 65 mile, two and a quarter hour segment motoring through the scenic and cultural heart of the region, and traveling back in time to our lunch stop, the quaint and original 1737 landmark Inn at the crossroads of MA-57 and MA-8 in Sandisfield:
Historic New Boston Inn, 101 North Main St, Sandisfield, MA 01255 (413) 258-4477

The third leg is optional, but, highly recommended! It’s a 13 mile, 24 minute uphill drive on MA-57 to our Ice Cream Stop at the Gran-Val Scoop Homemade Gourmet Ice Cream. It’s a family-owned heritage farm with a very cool barnyard of farm animals. Here’s where we say our good-byes and make our own ways home.
