Sculpture Hike Trip
Please join us for an autumn outing to the Andres Institute of Art for a hike through their outdoor Sculpture Park.
We will marshal at the Dunks in Lancaster at 10:00 for a 10:15 departure. We then follow a twisty backroads route for our lunch at Chrysanthis, which features Greek/Italian menu. From there, it is a very short trip to our final destination.
Founded in 1998, the Andres Sculpture Park features about a hundred pieces created by artists from all over the world. The artwork is situated on a number of hiking trails that rise up to the peak of Potanipo Hill. The hike to the top is an elevation change of 300 feet, which we will take at a leisurely pace to view the artwork along the way. This will require a moderate amount of fitness. There are also shorter trails for those who prefer them, and a shuttle bus running to the peak. There will be good views of late season foliage from the top of the hill. The Sculpture Park is free of charge, but a donation is suggested.
