October 11, 2025 Saturday Hancock Shaker Village Trip
UPDATE:
We still have room for a few more cars on this ride – the weather is predicted to be the best of the entire holiday weekend, colors enroute are starting to pop, the road conditions look great and this ride should be very fun. Due to its length people can opt to just take a food/rest stop break at the village (admission not required for that) and then proceed home without the rest of the group via a simple route back to the starting point via the Mass Pike (GPX and written instructions will be provided for all components of the ride).

| Join us for a scenic cross-state adventure (117 miles) from Sturbridge to the historic Hancock Shaker Village in Hancock, Mass. This picturesque drive will wind through hilly, curvy Miata-perfect roads at the height of New England’s fall color season.
We’ll take a rest stop about 75 minutes into our 3-hour journey before arriving at this award-winning living museum — recognized by Yankee Magazine as the Editor’s Choice for Best Historical Experience. Once there, you’ll have several hours to explore the working farm, watch Shaker craftsmen in action, and enjoy the many exhibits. |

Hancock Shaker Village began in the late 1780s, when nearly 100 Believers consolidated a community on land donated by local farmers who had converted to the Shaker movement. By the 1830s, with a great many more conversions and additional land acquisitions, the Shaker community peaked in population with more than 300 Believers and more than 3,000 acres
The utopian village known as Hancock Shaker Village continues its life today as a history museum with 20 authentic buildings, a working farm and significant collections of Shaker furniture and artifacts.
