Every day Eastern Massachusetts residents quench their thirsts, bathe, flush toilets, do the dishes and water their lawns with water drawn from the MWRA water system.
Thanks to the Quabbin and Wachusett Watersheds and Reservoirs, 2.5 million people and 5,500 industrial users have one of the most abundant and high-quality water supplies in the world.
We will embark on a tour of several points of interest of this water system from the Clinton Dam holding back the waters of the Wachusett Reservoir, the Ware River entrance into Wachusett and all the way out to the Quabbin Reservoir. After that, we’ll stop for lunch at the Stone Cow Brewery in Barre Ma.
We will meet at the Lowe’s in Hudson Ma. 6 Highland Common E, Hudson, MA 01749. There you will find Gas nearby and coffee and bathroom stops at Panera Bread, Lowe’s and Market Basket.
Drivers Meeting at 9:30 A.M. and we will be departing shortly thereafter.
