Join us for an abridged drive of the Essex Coastal Scenic Byway. The drive should take under 2hrs/37.1 miles.
Meet at 8:45 A.M. at Dunkin. 148 Newburyport Turnpike, Rowley, MA 01969
Leave at 9:00 A.M.
Drive to Halibut point state park. Parking is $5.00 for MA. resident plates and $20.00 for non-resident plates paid with credit card only. Lunch will be a picnic, pack your own food/drinks in your cooler. We will picnic outside the visitor center. Picnic tables and bathroom facilities are available. This is a carry in/carry out park.
Then drive back to town and park at 2 Blue Gate Lane (free parking) where we can walk 1 mile (20 minutes) or take the CATA shuttle to Dock Square ($1.00 per person each way or $.50 for seniors 60+ years) to get some ice cream and you will be free to explore the rest of Rockport at your own leisure.
