What is a Regional Event aka FFNE3

A Regional Event is a multi-day gathering of Miata car enthusiasts, typically hosted at a designated hotel venue. The event typically spans five days, with official driving activities scheduled for Thursday through Saturday. Attendees generally arrive on Wednesday for registration and depart on Sunday.

This event attracts participants from across North America. At our most recent Regional Event in 2019, we welcomed clubs from Utah, Florida, Canada, New York, Pennsylvania, and beyond. Attendance was capped at 125 vehicles to ensure a high-quality experience.

Event Structure and Activities

  • Driving Tours: Over the course of three days, attendees participate in organized driving tours curated and led by Mass Miata Club members who serve as lead and tail drivers on each ride.
  • Social Gatherings:
  • Welcome Party: Held Wednesday evening to kick off the event.
  • Farewell Dinner: A plated dinner on Saturday evening to celebrate the weekend.
  • Other Meals:
  • Attendees are responsible for their own meals on Thursday + Friday evening, and Sunday morning breakfast.

The Regional Event offers a unique opportunity to enjoy scenic drives, connect with fellow Miata enthusiasts, and foster camaraderie across clubs.

Volunteer Engagement

Successful execution of a Regional Event requires significant volunteer support. In 2019, over 70 members contributed their time and talents, though additional volunteers—particularly for trip leadership—would have further enhanced the experience.

Looking Ahead

If the club elects to sponsor another Regional Event, it will mark our third such endeavor. With continued member enthusiasm and volunteer commitment, we aim to build on past successes and deliver another memorable experience for the Miata community.
