We all met at Greg and Sarah’s for a 9:00 A.M. drivers meeting. We all departed at 9:30 with Greg and Sarah leading the caravan of 16 Miata’s and 1 Mini Cooper.
We traveled on a scenic drive around Marblehead with lovely views of the ocean and elaborate mansions to our first destination being the 1768 Lee Mansion. We were divided into three groups for our one hour tour. Our tour guide was Betty who was very humorous and informative.
After the tour we left the Lee Mansion for a short drive to Tedesco Country Club for lunch. The room was ready for our arrival with white linen table clothes and home made potato chips which were delicious and addictive. My husband and I had the generously large lobster roll with sweet potato fries .
We departed Tedesco Country Club and traveled through Salem where we saw lots of interesting costumed individuals. Once past the crowds we continued on our two and a half hour scenic drive along the coast ending in Portsmouth, our final destination. We had options of having ice cream or German pastry. My husband and I went to Cafe Vonsolin for coffee and German pastry along with several others from the group, while the rest went for ice cream.
We all had a wonderful day even though mother nature saw fit to ‘spritz’ on us a few times. Thanks to Greg and Sarah for a wonderful day and a great job. |
