DESCRIPTION:TRIP IS NOW FULL\, A WAIT LIST IS AVAILABLE.\n\nWe will meet at the Dunkin Donuts in Sterling (50 Leominster Rd.) at 9:30 AM with a driver’s meeting at 9:45 AM and we will leave at 10:00 AM sharp.\n\nThis trip is a modification of the 2020 Pre Hibernation Run\, hence the name.\n\nWe will travel about 1 1/2 hours through great roads in Central Mass (being October we might have some good tree colors) to a pit stop at the Walmart Super Center in Leicester (20 Soojian Drive\, Leicester\,MA 01524).\n\nAfter our pit stop we will again travel for about 1 hour over some fun roads to our final destination: Pine Croft Dairy (539 Prospect St.\, West Boylston\, MA 01583) for lunch – they have seafood\, burgers\, wraps and/or ice cream. Seating is available both indoors and outdoors.\n\nTrip is limited to 15 cars with 5 spaces being held for new members. DESCRIPTION:Hairpin Foliage Run\nSunday October 10\, 2021\n\nHairpin Foliage Run\n\nBoth groups are now full.  \n\nPlease contact Brenda at 978-590-8044\, or bgauvin@charter.net if you cannot make it\, or choose not to go.  We will fill your spot with a wait list car.\n\nWe will meet at 9:00 AM at the Market Basket at 147 Tower Road Athol\, MA 01331.\n\nOur trip meeting will be at 9:15 AM.\n\nThe first group of 12 cars will be leaving at 9:30 AM\, and the 2nd group at 9:45 AM.\n\nOur first stop is the Wagon Wheel\,  https://www.wagonwheelgill.com\, in Gill MA\, as a pit stop and an early lunch.  The Wagon Wheel is open at 11 AM for lunch\, and we are targeting for the 1st and 2nd group to arrive by 11AM – 11:15 AM so we can get the parking spots we need to accommodate 24 cars.\n\nWe’ll be there around 1 to 1.5 hours\, and then head off to the Hogback Mountain Store\, https://www.hogbackmountaincountrystore.com\, where we will spend 30 minutes for a pit stop and some shopping/browsing.  We’ll then head to the Big Y in Greenfield as the last leg of our trip\, where we will stretch our legs\, say our good byes and GPS it home.\n\nLet’s hope for some good leaf peeping 🙂\n\n\n  \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSo I thought it would be nice to take a trip where we’d actually stop and smell the roses\, or at least take in the view of the New England Foliage.\n\nWhat I do know\, with the help of Brenda \, there will be more than 1 hair pin turn on this trip. We will be eating at a Mass Miata favorite restaurant the Wagon Wheel.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

A SECOND TRIP OF 10 CARS CAN BE RUN IF A LEAD AND TAIL CAR ARE WILLING TO HELP OUT.\n  \nThere is a second Miata Club trip for the DeCordova Sculpture Garden and Museum on October 17\, 2021 at the peak of foliage season. The deCordova Sculpture Garden and Museum (now a Trustees of Reservation [TOR] property) in Lincoln is open to accommodate our group. \nMEETING will be at the Minute Man National Historical Park Battle Road Visitor’s Center Parking Lot in Lincoln/Lexington with a MEETING TIME OF 9:45 AM with a DEPARTURE TIME OF 10:15 AM sharp. \n\nWe will take a bit less than two-hour drive through scenic roads in local towns\, making a stop at Twisted Café for sandwich pickup or bathroom break or you can pack your own lunch. By October\, the onsite Café and Restaurant are likely to be open.\n\n\nWe will arrive at about noon time. We will be at the Museum for two hours+ until about 2:15 PM. That allocates adequate time for lunch and time to do self-guided audio tours of both the Sculpture Gardens and the indoor Museum. Download the phone app “TourTrustees” for the free guided tour info.\nAt 2:15 PM\, we will depart the Museum for a bit more than a one-hour scenic drive to our final destination at REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL “West Concord’s Best Homemade Ice Cream”.\n\nLimit: twelve cars (I will hold two spaces for new members). If there is a volunteer to lead a second group\, we can go beyond 12 cars. There are a number of folks from the July 11 waiting list already signed up for this trip. \nWHAT NOW: \nTo reserve a space\, send an email to richard_jeanne@icloud.com (that really is an underscore between richard and jeanne) with the following: \n\nName of Driver and passenger\, if any; year and color of car.\nCell phone number.\nAre you a new Miata Club member as of Jan 2020?\nCategory of Admission that you and your passenger each qualify for.
