SUMMARY:Miatas at the Museum
DESCRIPTION:16th Annual Miata Day at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum\nBring your stock or customized\, daily driver or garage queen Miata to the largest Miata/MX5 Only event in the Northeast on the lawn of the beautiful Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline\, MA. \nOnly Miatas will be parked on the lawn and displayed during our car day. \nCome join us on the lawn and help us beat the record breaking attendance of 150 cars!!! \nShow off your Roadster to other Miata owners and to the general public. There will be classic Rock & Roll tunes played and plenty of time to check out the Best Selling Sports Car of all time. \nThe event is open to all Miata owners or anyone interested in the Miata / MX-5 – you do not need to be a Mass Miata Club member to attend or to display your Miata. \nThis is not a concours event\, just the selection of Peoples Choice Miatas by attendees and the public. It’s intended as a day to have fun\, show off your Miata and visit with friends. Blankets\, lawn chairs\, umbrellas\, and picnic baskets are welcome\, and food will also be available for purchase. Visit the museum\, view the Boston skyline\, and pick your favorite Miata. \nThere will be trophies and door prizes. \nBased on popular vote trophies will be awarded for 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd places in four Miata generation classes: \n\nNA (1989-1997)\nNB (1999-2005)\nNC (2006-2015)\nND (2016-2017)\n\nThere will be other people’s choice categories as well. \n* Miata Parts Swap *\nAgain we will be having a Miata Parts Swap Event where you can bring your misc Miata parts to offer for swap or sale with other Miata owners. \n\nFrom noon to 12:30 there will be a parts swap/sell/marketplace held at an announced\, designated area. SUMMARY:Newport Harbor Cruise on Rum Runner II
DESCRIPTION:Only one spot left on this trip!\nUnfortunately I was unable to make a group reservation for the Thimble Island cruise so in its place we will spend the day with the rich and famous in Newport Rhode Island.  We will start the day with a 75 minute cruise around Newport Harbor aboard the Rum Runner II. \n\n\n\n\nThis boat was commissioned in 1929 by a couple of New Jersey mobsters during the prohibition era. She was designed to haul illegal booze and be fast in order to elude the Coast Guard. The cruise includes complimentary mimosas and croissants. The coast for the cruise is $30.00 per person\, and as I have made the reservation on my credit card payment must be sent to me in advance. For additional information on the cruise check out their website at www.cruisenewport.com .\nUpon arriving in Newport we will park our Miatas at the visitor center and purchase an all-day bus pass for $6.00  per person which lowers our parking charge to just $2.00 and will give us the availability to travel around Newport without worrying on finding a safe place to park.\n\n\n\nAfter the cruise lunch will be just a short walk away at The Landing Restaurant. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe will be able to order off the menu and have separate checks. If you want to view the menu in advance please check it out at www.thelandingrestaurantnewport.com . \n\n\n\nAfter lunch we will hop on the bus to ride to our next stop The Audrain Auto Museum (www.audrainautomuseum.org ). While the collection on view is not large\, maybe 25 cars but the restoration work is beautiful as is the building that houses the collection. During our visit the exhibit is entitled Fantastic Classics 1945 -1965.\nCost of admission is $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for seniors (which I hate to admit I am now one of).\n\n\n\n\nIf an auto museum is not your thing feel free to stay on the bus as at will make stops at the mansions and cliff walk. Afterwards we will meet downtown for what else but Ice Cream. \nFor those interested we will then take a drive along Newport’s famous Ocean Drive \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nwith a stop at Breton Point State Park to enjoy the ocean views. From there we will say our goodbyes and head on our separate ways home. \nOur meeting spot for this trip will be the Walmart in Raynham (36 Paramount Dr). The drivers meeting will be at 8:45 with hope of being on the road by 9:00. \nPlease remember to be TFBE (Tanks full\, Bladder empty) as there will not be any stops on the way down to Newport. The drive should be no more than an hour and a half and there are facilities at the Visitor center where we will be parking. \nIf you plan on meeting us in Newport rather than Raynham please let me know. \nI was only able at this time to make reservations for 25 people for the cruise so let me know ASAP if you want to join us for the day. I will need your name\, number in your party\, and a contact phone number. Please send a check for $30.00 per person to lock in your reservation to: \nLes Barton\n144 Hart St Unit 43\nTaunton\, MA 02780

From there we will travel backroads up the Waterbury\, Vt. to our lodging for the weekend. \nThe Best Western Plus Waterbury-Stowe\, 45 Blush Hill Rd.\, Waterbury\, VT. \n \n\n\n\n\nJust down the road from Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream factory! \nThere is a 15 room block for Friday\, July 29th\, thru Sunday July 31st\, 2016 with a departure date of Monday\,\nAugust 1st\, 2016. This trip has a three night booking requirement. There are 10 non-smoking rooms with two-double beds at a rate of $135.00 per night and 5 non-smoking rooms with one king bed at the rate of $140.00 per night. Rates are based on single or double occupancy and are subject to a 9% VT rooms and meal tax. \nTo make a reservation you must call the hotel directly at 802-244-7822 or 1-800-621-7822 and book under theMass Miata Club Room Block. Once all 15 blocked rooms are reserved there will be a wait list set up in case of cancellations. \nOur first day will be exploring\, the Mad River Valley; \n \nan area that is a club favorite. This river valley is a gently-sloped stretch of fertile land lying along both sides of the river between Moretown and Waitsfield Villages. The heart of the district is the Mad River\, which snakes through the length of the valley\, and is paralleled by Vermont Routes 100 and 100B. The landscape and buildings of the district still retain the character of a rural farming community\, reflecting over two centuries of cultivation of the flat farmland along the river\, contrasting with the heavily wooded hills bordering the valley. \nThe second day we will be exploring the White River Valley with its multiple branches through traditional Vermont scenic rolling farm land. This area has the highest concentration of Covered Bridges in the State. \n \nIt is an area that still maintains a look of Vermont of yesteryear. \nOur group meal will be a buffet Sunday night back at the hotel. \nOnce you have made your room reservation\, please e mail me at mslillyO@outlook.com or call and leave a message at my home telephone 781-762-2145 to let me know you are coming.
