DESCRIPTION:Once again the Club will be paying for the meal at this very important meeting.\n  \nThis year’s annual business meeting will be held at Barbers Crossing restaurant\, 175 Leominster Road (Route 12) Sterling MA\, immediately North of I-190 exit 6 on route 12. \nThis is our most important meeting of the year.\nWe will be electing officers and appointing the various committees. There are several vacant positions so if you’re interested in filling any of these openings\, please let Pat or another officer know. \nThe business meeting will begin at 11:00 AM\, break for lunch around noon\, and then resume after lunch (if needed). You can arrive as early as 10:30 to socialize\, shop the club merchandise\, etc. The meeting will begin promptly at 11:00. \nLunch selections include: Roast Turkey Dinner\, Chicken Pot Pie\, Roast Beef Dinner\, BBQ Texan Ribs and Baked Haddock with Apple Crisp for desert.  The meal does include tea\, coffee\, soda\, and iced tea. There is a cash bar available. We’ll be able to take in all the spectacular cars in the staging area before they line up to go on stage and watch the excitement of the action. For more information on the event following this link: Barrett-Jackson to present inaugural northeast auction in June 2016 at Mohegan Sun \n \nWe’ll be starting from Main Street Automotive\, 676 Main St.\, Clinton\, MA at 7 AM.  The group will travel through Worcester and on to I-395.  If you prefer\, you can meet the group at the I-395 South Bound Service Plaza (click for map)  in Plainfield\, CT (South of Exit 35) around 8 AM.  We should arrive at Mohegan Sun by 9 AM. \n \nSeating is general and because this is a smaller venue than other Barrett-Jackson auctions\, we’ll be able find parking and seats together. DESCRIPTION:Join us as we explore back roads in Worcester County. We’ll drive to a buffet lunch at King Phillip Restaurant. Lunch cost is $11.95 plus tax and tip per person. They will do individual checks. We will have a sandwich buffet set up with 2 different salads\, make your own sandwich station in addition with egg\, crabmeat and chicken salad sandwiches. Swedish Meatballs\, dessert\, coffee etc. \n \nFrom there it’s a quick drive to Harvard Forest\, located in Petersham\, MA. \n \nThere is a small museum where 23 dioramas portray the history of central New England forests. Outside there are walking trails. DESCRIPTION:Spring is right around the corner and that means it’s time to dust off the Miatas and get ready for Tech Day at Main Street Automotive! \nNEW DATE!!! – APRIL 2nd\n\nNEW THIS YEAR – SEE THE MAIN ST. AUTOMOTIVE MIATA!\n \nWe will also have a Pick n’ Pull of 6 Miata’s (4 NA & 2 NB). Some parts will be free\, but anything you buy will be very cheap. \n\nThe fun will begin at 8:00 AM. Coffee and donuts will be waiting. Pizza and soda will be served at noon. All attendees are asked to contribute $5.00 toward the purchase of lunch. This will also get you a raffle ticket for some cool prizes. We plan to wrap up around 2:30 PM followed by a ice cream run to Rota Spring Farm. \nThis will be a hands-on day for all those who like to do their own work or who want to learn from watching others. This is also a great opportunity to get help installing things like CB radios or intakes from those members who have done them before. \nBob\, Dave and Steve will all be available to help you with your parts installation. SUMMARY:Middlesex Concert Band
DESCRIPTION:For the last few years\, a small group of MMC’ers has attended these Concerts. They have been a great success and enjoyed by all. The group met for a meal either before or after the concert. The band is quite accommodating about seating for the group\, although we have not yet been able to work out a system to reserve any seating. Depending upon response from you folks\, the issue will be brought forward for further discussion with the band. \nThe weather In March is much less likely to be a problem\, the days will be getting longer so that the concert followed by dinner might accommodate more people. DESCRIPTION:The Winter Blues getting you down? Miss your Miata buddies? Well\, if you are like me that’s a big YES to both questions. So let’s plan on getting together for a movie and something to eat at Patriot Place in Foxborough\, MA. \n \nMichael Edwards grew up in Great Britain dreaming of competing in the Olympics. Though he was a decent downhill skier he was not good enough to qualify for the Olympic team. So he looked around for another sport where he would have a better chance of qualifying. He soon discovered that Great Britain never had anyone compete on an Olympic level in ski jumping. So with no coach or financial backing he was determined to become the first. His dream came true and he was able to compete in the 1988 Olympics in Calgary\, Canada. He soon became a media sensation with his unconventional style and spectacular crashes. We went here back in the winter of 2014 and everyone had a great time. Gifts can be: \n\na humorous joke gift (or not)\nbizarre (or not)\nuseful (or not)\nautomotive (or not)\nTHAT holiday present you received and wondered “what were they thinking… “\n\nParticipation is voluntary – it’s fun to watch even if you’re not participating\, however the more the merrier! Gifts and participation can be per person or per couple. Just remember that to select a gift you must bring one. Most couples opt to have each person bring a gift so each can participate. \nThis year we will be trying a different type of Yankee Swap. It’s known as the \nActuarial Yankee Swap \nHere’s how our Yankee Swap at the holiday party will work: \n1. Each person or couple that brought a wrapped gift gets to draw a number. A second container will have a duplicate set of numbers. \n2. The first number is picked from the duplicate set of numbers and the person holding that number selects and then opens a gift. This person will also have the last opportunity to pick from all the opened and still active gifts. \n3. This person also pulls the next number from the hat. The person holding that number can either choose an unopened gift\, or the already opened gift. \n4. That same person pulls the next number\, and as before\,the person holding that number can either choose an unopened gift\, or an already opened gift. \nHERE IS WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING ! \nIF that person chooses an already opened gift\, the person who just lost their gift can either choose any opened gift or open a new one.\nIF they choose an unopened gift\, the turn ends and they pick a new number.\nIF they take a gift from someone else\, the person now without a gift can take a gift from another or choose to open a new gift. This continues until a new gift is opened. \nOne last rule: Each gift can only be touched three times\, then it becomes INACTIVE and can not be exchanged. \nAfter this\, consenting adults are free to swap their present with anyone else. \nSome Yankee Swap etiquette “rules”: \n· people choosing their present are not allowed to fold\, spindle\, mutilate\, or otherwise fondle the presents before choosing one. \n· participants cannot hide their opened presents they want keep (to prevent others from swapping with them)
