SUMMARY:October 28\, 2023 Saturday Sculpture Hike Trip
DESCRIPTION:Sculpture Hike Trip \n  \nPlease join us for an autumn outing to the Andres Institute of Art for a hike through their outdoor Sculpture Park. \n \nWe will marshal at the Dunks in Lancaster at 10:00 for a 10:15 departure. We then follow a twisty backroads route for our lunch at Chrysanthis\, which features Greek/Italian menu. From there\, it is a very short trip to our final destination. \n  \nFounded in 1998\, the Andres Sculpture Park features about a hundred pieces created by artists from all over the world. The artwork is situated on a number of hiking trails that rise up to the peak of Potanipo Hill. The hike to the top is an elevation change of 300 feet\, which we will take at a leisurely pace to view the artwork along the way. This will require a moderate amount of fitness. There are also shorter trails for those who prefer them\, and a shuttle bus running to the peak. THANKS\, WE HAVE PLENTY OF VOLUNTEERS NOW. \nOur annual MMC club picnic and membership appreciate day will be held at Colt State Park Route 114 1070 Hope Street Bristol\, Rhode Island. Colt State Park has beautiful views and always a nice sea breeze.\nAll are welcomed!\nMass Miata members and their families are invited to attend this annual event\, which was started to show the Club’s appreciation to all our members and to thank everyone for their participation and support. \nWe have shelter 2 which is the large covered facility with parking and restrooms near by. Follow the Mass Miata signs. \nThe club will be providing the entrees of Hamburgers\, Hot Dogs and rolls .  There is no cost to members to attend this event\, however in an effort to control costs\, the club is asking members to provide appetizers\, salads\, desserts\, etc.if you choose to do so. DESCRIPTION:Frank Lloyd Wright Tour \nJune 17\, 2023 \nPlease join us for a scenic back road journey through Massachusetts and New Hampshire to tour two homes designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright. \n \nThe Zimmerman Home was commissioned by Dr. Isadore Zimmerman and his wife Lucille in 1949. Frank Lloyd Wright designed the home\, garden\, and furnishings. The Zimmermans lived in the house for the remainder of their lives\, and bequeathed it to the Currier Museum of Manchester NH. The house is preserved exactly as it was when the Zimmerman family lived there. \n \nThe Toufic H. Kalil House was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built in 1955 in the Usonian Automatic style. It was acquired by the Currier Museum in 2019\, and is right down the street from the Zimmerman House. \n  \nWe will marshal at the Market Basket in Westford MA just off I-495 at 9:00 for a 9:15 departure. The backroads journey will be about two hours – there will be one (optional) loo break about half way. \n  \nOur destination is the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester\, New Hampshire. There we will park our Miatas and enjoy brunch / refreshments in the Museum cafe\, which opens at 11:00. At noon we will board a tour bus along with our guide to travel to the nearby Wright homes. After our visit\, the bus will return us to the Currier Museum. Your Frank Lloyd Wright tickets also provide full access to the Currier Museum – you are free to explore the galleries as long as you wish\, and then make your own way home. Friday dinner is served 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. \nSaturday they will have a cocktail party at 5:30 P.M. and they will have Manhattan’s and Rum Punch with appetizers. \nSaturday dinner is served at 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. After dinner they will have a magician. \nThey have an indoor pool\, hot tub and sauna. Barnyard filled with animals (horses\, pigs\, cows\, bunnies\, chicken\, goats and others). You can have fun daily and collect your own eggs to be brought home or they will cook them for you. They bake homemade bread everyday and is served at dinner. (smells and taste fantastic). The bread can be ordered at the office and picked up on your departure day. \nThey have scheduled activities throughout the day that are included in your stay: \nSample of activities subject to change. Pony Grooming\, trails for hiking\, (one is a short walk down the street and follows a river where the ice freezes over the rock) fantastic views. Please bring your own snacks for sharing and whatever you want to drink. \nI will bring plates and napkins. \nDAY TWO Tuesday October 18\, 2022: we will see the Bennington Battle Monument\, 4 covered bridges\, drive up Mount Equinox Skyline have lunch and drive back to the inn arriving around 4:30 P.M.  Dinner is on your own tonight. \nDAY THREE Wednesday October 19\, 2922: We will drive over three covered bridges\, visit a cheese shop\, have a light lunch at The Vermont Country Deli and drive back to the inn around 3:00: P.M. OUR GROUP DINNER will be tonight at 6:00 P.M. at the inn. 3 course meal soup\, salad. 2 main courses and dessert.
