On day one we will stop at Gillette Castle for a picnic lunch and to enjoy the views of the Connecticut River. \n \nAfter lunch we will take a short ferry ride across the river then travel on down to the town of Essex. We will then board the Essex Steam Train and river boat for an enjoyable 2 ½ hour journey along the river. \n \n  \n  \n  \n \n  \nDinner will follow at Market 37 a riverside restaurant. We will stay the night at the Pier Blue Hotel in Old Saybrook.  \n  \n \nFriday morning breakfast will be directly across the street. We will then take a short drive down to Stoneycreek to board the Sea Mist for a 45 minute narrated tour of the Thimble Islands. A small group of islands with some rather beautiful homes and interesting history.
