DESCRIPTION: Had 41 members\nJoin Bob & Me and Gov & Pam Baird on our annual Mass Miata Club Holiday Party.\nBooking your room at the group rate is now closed.\nTHERE IS A LOT TO READ\, PLEASE READ ALL OF THE PERTINENT INFORMATION!\n \nThis year’s MMC Holiday Party will be held at:\n \nHILTON MYSTIC HOTEL \n20 Coogan Blvd. Mystic\, CT 06355 \nQUIET ENJOYMENT-THE HOTEL OBSERVES QUIET HOURS BETWEEN 10:00 P.M. TO 8:00 A.M. IF ANY COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER GUESTS\, YOU WILL BE GIVEN ONE VERBAL WARNING\, AFTER THAT THE GUESTS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE HOTEL. \nThe hotel has two very nice common seating areas\, one indoors and the other one is outdoors in the elements but with fireplaces.\n \n  \nBreakfast is not included\, but there is a nice restaurant on site. You could also go to one of several local breakfast choices including the Mystic Diner\, just  a few minutes walk from the hotel\, if you do not want to eat in the hotel restaurant. \nRestaurant on site for breakfast. Saturday & Sunday breakfast 7:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M. \nHotel rooms have a coffee maker\, fridge and microwave in each room.  Each room has a tub/shower unit with a safety bar. \nHotel has a pool\, free parking and a restaurant on site for breakfast or dinner. \n \n  \nCheck in at 4:00 P.M. and check out is at 11:00 A.M. \nHandicap rooms are available. You will need to call the hotel at (203) 572-0731 to book a room. \nTHE HOLIDAY PARTY WILL BE ON SATURDAY JANUARY 20\, 2024. THE PARTY WILL BE A TRIBUTE TO LILLIAN ORCHARD FOR THE  MANY\, MANY YEARS SHE ORGANIZED THE MMC HOLIDAY PARTIES.\nSHE ALWAYS LOVED A GOOD TIME!  \n\n“TROPICAL WINTER THEMED HOLIDAY PARTY”\nCOME DRESSED UP IN YOUR SUN HATS\, FLIP FLOPS\, SUNGLASSES\, SHORTS AND YOUR FAVORITE COLORFUL BEACH ATTIRE. You do not have to go outside to get to the ballroom. The hotel is heated so you will not be cold.\n \n \n  \nSaturday MMC Holiday Party:\nMeet in the Cutter Ballroom at 5:30 P.M. for our Yankee swap and cocktails. Cash bar for drinks.\n \nUnfortunately hotel policy prohibits food and beverages from outside in the ballroom\, so we will not be allowed to bring snacks or our own drinks. \nCash bar is available in the restaurant bar just outside the Cutter Ballroom. There will not be a bar tender in the cutter ballroom. \nDinner will be buffet style and served from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Gifts and participation can be per person or per couple. Just remember that to select a gift you must bring one. Most couples opt to have each person bring a gift so each can participate. Here’s how our Yankee Swap at the holiday party will work: \n1. Each person or couple that brought a wrapped present gets to draw a number.\n2. The person with #1 selects and then opens a present.\n3. The person with the next highest number (2 in this case) chooses and opens a present. They then decide whether they want to keep the present they just opened or swap it for any other opened present.\n4. Lather\, rinse\, repeat step 3 until all numbers have been used and all presents have been opened.\n5. Finally\, the person who drew #1 gets to swap the present they are holding for any other present.\nAfter this\, consenting adults are free to swap their present with anyone else. \nSome Yankee Swap etiquette “rules”: \n• people choosing their present are not allowed to fold\, spindle\, mutilate\, or otherwise fondle the presents before choosing one.\n• participants cannot hide their opened presents they want to keep.  (to prevent others from swapping with them) \n  \n\n\n  \n\n\n\n  \n
