Snacks and refreshments are also available on the boat. \nWe will be taking the 11:55 “Star Island Walking Tour” cruise. I recommend making reservations as soon\nas possible\, but please contact me first so that a count can be maintained. Reservations can be made by\ncalling (800) 441-4620 or at isleofshoals.com . \nStar Island Walking Tour\nWe will be updating as more guidance comes.\nCovid update: In an effort to keep our passengers separated from island conferees\nand employees\, we expect to designate specific areas for your use which will be\nmarked via signage. Passengers will not be permitted in most buildings or on\nporches while on Star Island.\nNo need to print your tickets. We will have your name and number in your party and\ncheck off as you board.\nEnjoy our expertly narrated Isles of Shoals and Portsmouth Harbor Tour with the added\nbonus of a guided walking tour on Star Island! Disembark with our tour guide and explore\nStar Island. Your guide will walk you through over 400 years of rich history including the\ncharting of the Isles in 1614 by Captain John Smith of Jamestown and Pocohontas fame who\nwas given the isles as a reward for his efforts on behalf of the Crown of England. Hear the\nlegend of the pirates Blackbeard and Captain Kidd\, and the lady ghost of White Island. In the\n1800’s Resort hotels were built on Star and Appledore Islands and the Shoals became one\nof the most popular vacation spots on the New England Coast. You’ll see the Oceanic hotel\,\nwhich rivaled the grandest hotels of the time and is still in operation today. Your tour will take\nyou through the replica of Gosport Village\, a fishing outpost dating back to the early 1600s\nwhich includes the picturesque Stone Chapel and several cottages. You’ll also see the tallest\ngravestone in the state of New Hampshire\, the John Smith Monument\, and the Caswell\nCemetary.\nThe guided walking portion of the tour is optional and you are welcome to explore the island\non your own. This cruise allows approximately 1 hour on Star Island. \nFor those interested we will be stopping for an early dinner after the cruise.
