DESCRIPTION:Northfield Drive-In Trip \n \n  \nJoin us for a trip through the backwoods of northern Massachusetts to the historic Northfield Drive-In. The Northfield is celebrating 70 years of showing movies under the stars\, and is listed as one of the 30 best drive-ins in the country. Saturday August 10th is a Retro night – with two classic films showing as a double features being  (Back to the future and the Goonies). \n  \nWe will meet at the Regency Westford at 2:30pm\, for the 70 mile / 2 hour trip to the Northfield Drive-In. We will be going on back roads for the whole trip – there is one brief section (less than a mile) on an unpaved road that will take in 2nd gear. We’ll stop about halfway through the trip for ice cream. The gates at the Northfield will open at 6:30pm. There is a snack bar in the drive-in serving burgers/hot dogs/pizza (and popcorn\, of course)\, or you can bring your own picnic dinner. Folding chairs or a picnic blanket might be a good idea; bug spray is essential! Tickets are $24/car – cash only\, paid at the gate. The movie screening should start about ½ hour after sunset\, or 8:30PM. After the movie(s)\, you can plan a late night return or stay overnight at one of the nearby inexpensive motels. \n  \nThis trip is limited to 12 cars. RSVP by August 7.
